Tŝilhqot'in Radio Mobile Application

Effective Date: February 26, 2026

1. Introduction

Tsilhqot’in National Government (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the Tsilhqot’in Radio mobile application (the “App”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Information we Collect and How we use It

The Tsilhqot’in Radio app is designed to respect user privacy. We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to listen to the radio or podcasts.

  • Log Data & Analytics: When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information. This may include your device’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when using our service, the time and date of your use of the service, and other diagnostic data. This information is used solely to maintain the quality of the service and to understand general usage trends.
  • Audio Streaming: Our app connects to continuous audio streams and podcast hosting servers. During this connection, standard connection data (like your IP address) is temporarily visible to the streaming server to deliver the audio content to your device.

3. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may feature links to external websites or third-party services that are not operated by us (for example, links to donate via CanadaHelps or links to external news articles).

  • If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.
  • We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.
  • We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App itself does not use native “cookies” explicitly. However, the App may use third-party code, libraries, or web-views that use “cookies” or similar tracking technologies to collect basic information and improve their services.

5. Security of your Information

We value your trust in providing us with your information (if any), thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are general audience services and do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
