DESCRIPTION:It is with profound gratitude that we invite you to a ceremony to honour the Teẑtan Biny Gagaghut’i (Teẑtan Biny Agreement) and all of those who helped the Tŝilhqot’in\, on Friday\, July 24th at Teẑtan Biny (Fish Lake). This event has been rescheduled from the initial 2025 dates.\n\n\n\nAfter decades of fighting to protect this sacred and spiritual area from destructive mining proposals\, the Tŝilhqot’in Nation is proud to report that in 2025\, we entered consent agreements with British Columbia and Taseko (now “Trekor”) that require the free\, prior informed consent for any mining activities at Teẑtan Biny and Nabaŝ. This means we no longer have to live with the threat of exploration or mining in this special place in the face of our opposition.\n\n\n\nOur success could not have been realized without allies like you. To those that provided resources and help in any way they could and stood with us in solidarity – nexwechanalhyagh (we thank you) – we hold our hands up to you.\n\n\n\nThe outdoor event is a 3-hour one-way commute from Williams Lake that can only be done with a 4X4 truck due to the road conditions to the site.
